Keith E. Phillips, Global President and CEO-Europe
Keith has a core capability in International Marketing and is also is seen as a leader in the application of technology to provide competitive advantage. As a past Venture Capitalist and Chairman of a listed company he has successfully applied his skills to the positioning of companies to attract capital. He has had an International Business career spanning Europe, USA, Middle East, and Africa with Unilever, Gillette and Apple Computers. He was an International Marketing Manager for Gillette for a group of 54 countries, Managing Director of Apple U.K., and a Director of Marketing for Apple USA. Significantly Apple U.K. was Apple’s ‘Country of the Year’ during his tenure. Settling in New Zealand he has focussed on growing, investing and taking to the international market a number of innovative companies. He built New Zealand’s leading Interactive Media Company and successfully sold it to Rupert Murdoch’s News Media affiliate INL. Keith built IT Capital, a leading Venture Capital Organization, which chalked up some impressive exits. He has been Chairman of Cadmus helping the company grow from $2 million to $22 million in revenues and was a director and investor in Terabyte Interactive, Virtual Spectator and QLBS.com. As President of QLBS, he has made significant contributions to work done in the City of San Jose in Silicon Valley, a leading Engineering Consultancy in Colorado, the Manufacturing Industry in Britain, the Business Communities of 12 countries of the Pacific and the Gulf state of Qatar. Keith was an advisor to the previous 2 NZ governments. He participated with the past Prime Minister in trade delegations to India and in meetings with the Prime Ministers of India, Singapore and Pakistan, assisting in the marketing of NZ Innovation and Technology. Keith has a Business Degree with triple majors in Marketing, Economics and Business Science. He has also attended the INSEAD Advanced Management programme for Top CEO’s in Europe. He initiated and delivered a post-graduate course for the Auckland University Business School called “The New Marketing” which covered e-commerce. He is an accomplished international speaker and consultant. Keith believes that QLBS has a truly transformational technology, and the business is capable of scaling up to a company of great significance.
Steve Lewin, Founder and Chief Technology Architect
With 30 years of experience within the IT industry, Steve has become a world leader in the use of technology for Transformational change. He pioneered the methodology which has enabled the capturing of Best Practice models and the conversion of these models to an audit framework. In the process he invented the “Universal measurement system” that allowed any lead activity to be measured, action planning facilitated and progress towards best practice monitored. Steve has deployed this system across a wide range of Performance Improvement genre’s such as Malcolm Baldrige, EFQM, ISO Compliance, Asset Management, Manufacturing.
With the QLBS team, hundreds of unique measurement systems from Brand Equity Management, New Product evaluation, Economic Development performance, Social policy delivery and the like are continuously updated and positioned for the global market. Throughout his career Steve has worked with a range of businesses from small enterprise through to large corporate bodies and has co-founded and been a director of QLBS Ltd, Quantum Logic Ltd and Trident Software Ltd.
Margaret Mulqueen, Director of Key Accounts
Margaret has 30 years’ experience in the health, education and business sectors. Throughout her career she has developed and utilised skills in client relationship management, organizational management, training, human resources, marketing and financial management. Margaret has been co-founder and director of several technology companies with her role focussing on client liaison and in a strategic advisory capacity. In 2000 Margaret co-founded Quantel, initially established to provide business consulting to the SME market. With the design and development of the proprietary performance management system the business, (renamed QLBS.com) focussed on supplying public sector agencies and private sector organizations. As Director of Key Accounts, Margaret is responsible for client relationship management. This means on-going communication with open dialogue to understand the client requirements, constraints, resources and the drivers underpinning the purchase of the system. In this way both parties engage with the intention of achieving results that are mutually rewarding. Valuing the client relationship is at the core of QLBS’s success. Formerly, Margaret had a private practice consulting on HR issues with middle and senior managers within corporate organizations and small to medium size enterprises in New Zealand. Her background and experience has given Margaret a great understanding of group dynamics within organizations and resulted in her on-going interest in the development of healthy organizations.
Linda Kerkmann, Financial & Operational Director
A 14 year professional marketing career starting with Unilever in South Africa and ending as Marketing Manager at Procter and Gamble in the United Kingdom has provided Linda with a good exposure to business in the most professional environments. In 1988, Linda established a Marketing Consultancy in the UK called The Female Advantage. With their unique, highly innovative approach to marketing, this company secured significant marketing contracts with numerous blue chip clients. In New Zealand, Linda has made use of her great numerate and organizational skills by managing the commercial side of several businesses in the technology space. From 1992-1998 Linda was the Commercial Director and responsible for the operational side of Terabyte Interactive-the leading interactive media company in NZ. This business was successfully sold to Rupert Murdoch’s INL. Linda has overseen the establishment of QLBS’s United States and United Kingdom companies. Project managing the US and UK business for QLBS, has established her reputation for commitment and determination to get things done on time and demonstrated her great attention to detail. She interfaces well with people at all levels. Linda has an honours degree in Business Science with majors in Marketing, Economics and Business Science.
Andrew Kwek, General Manager
As General Manager, Andrew oversees QLBS business development in the Pacific Region. Since joining in 2003, he has been determined to make QLBS’ outstanding technology the most robust and innovative global business solutions provider. He takes a lead role in the growth of potential markets, establishing international sales agreements and providing management consulting services to organizations ranging from medium sized, privately owned companies to large multi-national corporations. He proactively develops relationships with key industry and government agencies, successfully leading them through key projects using the diagnostic approach to establish their cutting edge systems and processes. With over 18 years of industry experience in successfully delivering applications to customers, including 10 years in 3M Corporation in channel development, training and supporting new product and export markets, Andrew is confident in his role establishing QLBS technology as the preferred solution. As General Partner and COO of a private equity firm, Andrew co-developed the Profit Engineering Methodology to optimize SME operational profits. His business experience and qualifications with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Post-graduate Diplomas in Marketing and Financial Management is evident in his mature insights and contributions to the steady growth of the company.
Louis Ormerod, Systems Architect
Louis is instrumental in his role as Systems Architect and Software developer for QLBS. Over the last 5 years, he has built a unique systems platform enabling rapid application development and full web implementation. His commitment to quality and customer support has enabled the successful deployment of full QLBS systems in the demanding environments of California, the United Kingdom and the Pacific Region. Louis is passionate about his contribution and determined to see QLBS increasingly winning against competitors in providing clients with real value and growth solutions. Prior to working with QLBS, Louis held senior software engineer positions in the USA with Symbol Technologies (Handheld mobile computing) and Dendrite (Pharmaceutical sales systems). He has a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Electronics and Computers and brings with him a wide range of experiences in technical applications, operating systems, computer languages and web technologies.
